Forty Years on an Iceberg
Forty years on an iceberg (make the number 10 four times with your
hands)
Over the ocean wide (make waves with hands)
Nothing to wear but pyjamas (pretend to put on pajamas)
Nothing to do but slide (pretend to dive with your arms in front of
you)
The wind was cold and icy(cross your arms and shiver)
The frost began to bite! (pinch your neighbors)
I had to hug my polar bear (hug your neighbors)
To keep me warm at night, Oh!
Hum the first line instead of singing it and repeat. Continue until
all lines are hummed.
The Little Green Frog
After the first verse, the animal and actions change.
M-m went the little green frog one day
M-m went the little green frog
M-m went the little green frog one day
We all went M-m-ahh
But we all know frogs go la-de-da-de-da
La-de-da-de-da, la-de-da-de-da
We all know frogs go la-de-da-de-da
They don't go m-m-ahh
The Martian Hop
We have just received an note from outer space
The Martians want to hold a dance for the whole human race!
Pa-pa-ooh-ma-ma, pa-pa-ooh-ma-ma
Pa-pa-ooh, pa-pa-ooh, pa-pa-ooh-ma-ma
Pa-pa-ooh-ma-ma, pa-pa-ooh-ma-ma
Pa-pa-ooh, pa-pa-ooh, pa-pa-ooh-ma-ma
We do the Martian Hop!
We do the Martian Hop!
Boom Chick
I said a boom
I said a boom chick a boom
I said a boom chick-a-rocka chick-a-rocka chick a boom
Oh yeah?
Uh huh!
Once more...
Each line is repeated by everyone. At the end of the verse, the song
leader announces a new singing style such as "underwater:. The song
is then repeated in that style. The song is ended by singing "No
more" instead of "Once more"
Tarzan
Each line is repeated by everyone.
Tarzan,
Was swinging from a rubber band,
Crashed into a frying pan,
Now Tarzan's got a tan.
Jane,
Was flying in an aeroplane,
Crashed into a freeway lane,
Now Jane's got a pain,
Now Tarzan's got a tan.
Cheeta,
Was dancing to the beata,
Crashed into the streeta,
Now Cheeta is Velveta,
Now Jane's got a pain,
Now Tarzan's got a tan.
Shamu,
Was swimming in the ocean blue,
Crashed into a red canoe,
Now Shamu's gonna sue,
Now Cheeta is Velveta,
Now Jane's got a pain,
Now Tarzan's got a tan.
Green Grass
Each line except the last line of each verse is repeated. When the
words "all around" are sung, everyone waves their hands in the
air and spins around.
There was a hole
The cutest little hole
That you ever did see
And the hole was in the ground and the green grass grew all around, all
around, all around, the green grass grew all around
And in that hole
There was a tree
The cutest little tree
That you ever did see
And the tree was in the hole and the hole was in the ground and the green
grass grew all around, all around, the green grass grew all around.
And on that tree
There was a limb
The cutest limb
That you ever did see
And the limb was on the tree and the tree was in the hole and the hole
was in the ground and the green grass grew all around, all around, the
green grass grew all around.
The song continues with a branch, a twig, a nest, an egg, a bird,
a wing, a feather, and a flea. Some parts such as the twig are occasionally
left out. If you remember everything, the last verse might go something
like this:
And on that feather
There was a flea
The cutest little flea
That you ever did see
And the flea was on the feather and the feather was on the wing and the
wing was on the bird and the bird was in the egg and the egg was in the
nest and the nest was on the twig and the twig was on the branch and the
branch was on the limb and the limb was on the tree and the tree was in
the hole and the hole was in the ground and the green grass grew all around
all around all around, the green grass grew all around.
Or, if you're in a hurry to finish, instead of a flea on the feather,
try this for a quick ending:
And on that feather
There was an ELEPHANT! (the end)
The Music Man
The first part of each verse is sung by a 'director'. The question
"What can you play?" is asked by everyone. The second part to
each verse is sung by a section of the campfire.
I am the music man
And I come from down your way
And I can play...
What can you play?
I play the pi-an-o
The leader directs a particular section of the campfire to sing these
words while pretending to play the piano.
Pi-a-pi-a-pi-a-no, pi-an-o, pi-an-o
Pi-a-pi-a-pi-a-no, pi-an-o
I am the music man
And I come from down your way
And I can play...
What can you play?
I play the vi-o-lin
For the second verse, another instrument such as the violin is chosen.
The leader directs a different section of the campfire to play their violins:
Vi-o-vi-o-vi-o-lin, vi-o-lin, vi-o-lin
Vi-o-vi-o-vi-o-lin, vi-o-lin
Then, the leader widens their scope to direct the piano players to
play their pianos together with the violin players. The two parts are
sung together.
Each verse adds another instrument such as a piccolo (pic-a-lo) or
a big bass drum (boom boom boom). One by one, each instrument joins with
the other instruments to create an orchestra.
I Have Lost My Underwear
Sung to the Tune of Bye Bye Blackbird
I just lost my underwear
I don't care, I'll go bare,
Bye Bye Long johns.
They were very dear to me
Tickled me, hee hee hee!
Bye Bye Long johns.
I remember that little round flap behind me
Open up and there you would find me
I just lost my underwear
I don't care, I'll go bare
Long johns Bye Bye!
God Save My Underwear
Sung to the tune of God Save the Queen
God save my underwear
They were my only pair
God save them please
Bring them to Mex-ico
Wash them at Tex-ico
God save my underwear
God save them please!
Change Your Underwear
This song completes the Underwear Trilogy
You've got to change your underwear daily
And brush your teeth every night and day
You've got to wash mainly
Because the dirt isn't good for you
It'll make you ugly, and homely, you'll lose all your friends
Come on, it's time to make amends
You can't go on! Change your underwear!
Down by the Bay
Down by the bay
Where the watermelons grow
Back to my home
I dare not go
For if I do
My mother would say:
Did you ever see a flea with a sun-burned knee?
Down by the bay!
Then repeat the entire song, changing the last rhyme.
The Quarter Master Store
There llamas, llamas, wearing pink pajamas
In the store, in the store
There were llamas, llamas, wearing pink pajamas
In the quarter master store
My eyes are dim I cannot see
I have not brought my specks with me
I have not brought my specks with me!
Then repeat the entire song, but change the first rhyme.
My Momma Don't Wear No Socks!
My Momma don't wear no socks! (A DING-DONG!)
I saw her when she took them off! (A DING-DONG!)
The threw them up to heaven
Knocked down a 747!
A ding dong dong dong dong a ding dong dong dong dong dong dong a ding
dong
Change the second rhyme and repeat.
Jacob's Ladder
We
are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
Soldiers of the Cross
Ever rung goes higher and higher
Ever rung goes higher and higher
Ever rung goes higher and higher
Soldiers of the Cross
If you love Him, why not serve Him?
If you love Him, why not serve Him?
If you love Him, why not serve Him?
Soldiers of the Cross
Sinners, do you love your Jesus?
Sinners, do you love your Jesus?
Sinners, do you love your Jesus?
Soldiers of the Cross
Rise, shine! Give God your glory
Rise, shine! Give God your glory
Rise, shine! Give God your glory
Soldiers of the Cross
Taps
This is the last song of the campfire. Cross your left arm over your
right arm and hold hands with the people next to you. At the end of the
song, shake hands with your neighbors and day "Thanks for the evening,
campers!". Finally, everyone turns around together while holding
hands.
Day's done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh
Linger
This is usually the last song of the last campfire. Cross your left
arm over your right arm and hold hands with the people next to you. At
the end of the song, shake hands with your neighbors and day "Thanks
for the evening, campers!". Finally, everyone turns around together
while holding hands.
Mmm, I want to linger
Mmm, a little longer
Mmm, a little longer here with you
Mmm, its such a perfect night
Mmm, it doesn't seem quite right
Mmm, that this should be my last with you
Mmm, and as the years go by
Mmm, I'll think of you and sigh
Mmm, This is good night and not good bye
Mmm, I want to linger
Mmm, a little longer
Mmm, a little longer here with you
Mmm, and come September
Mmm, I will remember
Mmm, our camping days and friendships true
Mmm, I want to linger
Mmm, a lttle longer
Mmm, a little longer here with you |
